In the 2016-2017 academic year, the process began with the launch of the Non-Thesis Master's Program in Visual Communication Design within the Social Sciences Institute at Anadolu University. This process culminated in the opening of the undergraduate program in the Department of Visual Communication Design within the Faculty of Open Education at Anadolu University in the 2021-2022 academic year. In the 2022-2023 academic year, the Social Sciences Institute accepted its first students into the Thesis Master's Program in Visual Communication Design.
The Department of Visual Communication Design provides educational services to over 7,000 students through its undergraduate, thesis, and non-thesis master's programs.
The vision of the Department of Visual Communication Design is to cultivate students who possess the ability to create scientific, innovative, original, and universal creative works in the fields of visual arts and design by keeping up with technology. It is planned that in the next few years, the department will be internationally recognized both for its qualified graduates and its academic staff. Graduates of the department are expected to make significant contributions to both the industry and academia.
